The Council has approved the submission of an Expression of Interest to create a Foundation Strategic Authority for Northamptonshire, in collaboration with West Northamptonshire Council. This decision was made to ensure the area benefits from devolution and secures greater powers and investment.

The Scrutiny Management Board of North Northamptonshire Council met on Monday 16 March 2026 to approve a new tool for assessing and prioritising scrutiny items and to adopt the latest iteration of the Scrutiny Work Programme for 2025-26.
