Overview & Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 23rd July, 2024 6.30 p.m.
The committee discussed the council's performance on recycling, the Strategic Asset Management Plan, and the proposed Target Operating Model. The Strategic Asset Management Plan was adopted by the council, while the committee noted the recycling and Target Operating Model reports and will consider them again after a further round of consultation by the council.
Council - Wednesday, 17th July, 2024 7.00 p.m.
The meeting decided that Columbia Road Market, Watney Market and Whitechapel Market should all be officially designated as markets, and also that the market fees at these markets, and at all other markets and street trading spots in Tower Hamlets should increase by 3.1% from September 2024. The meeting also agreed the contents of an interim scheme by which the council will take over the planning powers of the London Legacy Development Corporation ([LLDC]) in September 2024.
Overview & Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 9th July, 2024 6.30 p.m.
The Overview & Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the Council's budget outturn, its annual strategic delivery and performance report and progress against its Women's Safety Action Plan. The meeting also reviewed proposals for the next phase of the Council's corporate restructure and discussed a new draft work programme for Overview & Scrutiny.
Audit Committee - Monday, 8th July, 2024 6.30 p.m.
The Audit Committee discussed updates on the progress of various internal and external audits being carried out at the council. Councillors noted four reports on School Audits, Risk Management, Insurance and Internal Audit. They also discussed the committee's work plan for 2024/25. Finally, the committee moved into private session to discuss a confidential matter.
Extraordinary, Audit Committee - Thursday, 27th June, 2024 6.00 p.m.
The Audit Committee discussed the council's performance in providing adult social care to people in their homes, and the process of recruiting new social workers to deliver that care. The committee decided to ask the council's senior management team to investigate the relationship between the amount the council spends on recruiting social workers and the speed with which they are able to fill vacancies.
