The Planning Committee of Havering Council met on Thursday 23 April 2026 to discuss planning applications. The committee resolved to defer a decision on an application for 51 Windermere Avenue, Hornchurch, and subsequently refused an application for a 10-bedroom House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) at 88 Eastern Road, Romford.
Council - Wednesday, 18 March 2026 - 7.30 pm
The Council meeting on 18 March 2026 saw a significant debate and vote on the future of three libraries: Harold Wood, Gidea Park, and South Hornchurch. Ultimately, all proposals to halt their closure or disposal failed to pass. The council also approved changes to its Contract Procedure Rules and Constitution, and adopted the Pay Policy Statement for 2026/27.

The Council of Havering met on Wednesday, 4 March 2026, to discuss and approve the budget for the 2026/27 financial year, which included setting the Council Tax. After considerable debate, the administration's budget proposal was approved, with an amendment from the Labour Group being rejected.
