Lancashire County Council's Cabinet met on 10 July 2025, and approved a new set of focus areas for the coming year, the Lancashire Child and Youth Justice Plan 2025-26, and the Lancashire's Children in Our Care Sufficiency Strategy 2025-2028. They also agreed to increase parking charges at Preston Bus Station and made some changes to the way they collect contributions from developers.

The Lancashire Local Access Forum met on Tuesday 8 July 2025 to discuss coastal path updates, forum membership, and a new peat map for England, among other items. The forum was also scheduled to discuss drones, local government reorganisation, and the Rights of Way Improvement Plan. The next meeting dates were scheduled to be agreed.

Lancashire County Council's Cabinet met on 5 June 2025, and approved a number of measures including the allocation of the Growing Places Fund monies to the Lancashire Combined County Authority, and a review of the council's financial management. They also approved the closure of the sixth form at Moor Park High School.

Full Council

Annual General Meeting, Full Council - Thursday, 22nd May, 2025 1.00 pm

At the Full Council meeting on 22 May 2025, Lancashire County Council elected Councillor Alf Clempson as Chairman and Councillor Lee Hutchinson as Vice-Chairman. The council also re-elected Councillor Stephen Atkinson as Leader of the County Council, who then announced his cabinet. Councillors approved the Constitution of the County Council for 2025/26 and the membership of various committees, as well as appointments to outside bodies including the Lancashire Combined Fire Authority.
