The Planning Policy Committee of West Northamptonshire Council approved the updated West Northamptonshire Local Development Scheme 2025 on 17 December 2025. The committee delegated authority to the Head of Planning Policy and Specialist Services to make minor editorial and presentational changes to the scheme.

The Strategic Planning Committee approved the construction of a storage and distribution building at Plot 6, Northampton Gateway Rail Freight Interchange, on 16 December 2025. This approval was granted in accordance with the Case Officer’s recommendation, subject to conditions and the completion of a Section 106 Agreement. The decision includes the allocation of mezzanine floorspace to offset trip generation and a 1-metre increase in building height above the DCO parameter for Zone A3.

The Strategic Planning Committee approved the reserved matters for parcels H40-43 at Towcester Vale Phase 1, London Road, Towcester on 16 December 2025. The decision was made in accordance with the Case Officer’s recommendation, subject to conditions.

The Strategic Planning Committee of West Northamptonshire Council approved recommendations on 16/12/2025. The decision was to grant permission for the redevelopment of land at Northampton Station, subject to additional conditions and the completion of a S106 Agreement. This includes financial contributions for healthcare, education, employment and skills training, library provisions, affordable housing, open space, and landscape maintenance.

The Planning Policy Committee approved the West Northamptonshire Statement of Community Involvement 2025 on 19 November 2025. The committee also agreed to revoke existing Statements of Community Involvement and delegated authority to the Head of Planning Policy and Specialist Services to make minor editorial changes.
