The Constitution and Governance Committee of Cornwall Council met on Tuesday 6 January 2026 to discuss several key procedural and policy matters. The committee approved changes to Council Procedure Rule 12, allowing for more motions to be debated at Council meetings, and recommended that the term Chairman
be replaced with Chair
throughout council documents to promote inclusivity. Additionally, the committee recommended that elected members be provided with guidance on using mobile phones and the Microsoft Teams Voice-Activated Directory to improve constituent engagement.
Strategic Planning Committee - Thursday, 18th December, 2025 10.00 am
The Strategic Planning Committee is scheduled to meet on Thursday, 18 December 2025, to consider planning applications for a wood and waste recycling facility near Camborne, a care home in Truro, and extra care apartments in Bodmin. The committee will also note recent planning appeal decisions.

The Miscellaneous Licensing Committee convened to address several applications and reviews related to Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle licences, ultimately granting two applications, and adjourning three cases for further consideration.
