Licensing Sub-Committee B - Monday, 12th August, 2024 10.30 am

This meeting was about making decisions on applications for new and modified licences for the sale of alcohol in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The Sub-Committee were scheduled to consider an application for a new licence to sell alcohol at the Charlton Post Office and Convenience Store at 10-12 Charlton Church Lane in Charlton. The meeting was also scheduled to consider an application to vary the existing licence at the Shell Shooters Hill petrol station to allow the sale of alcohol for consumption off the premises.

This meeting of the full council saw the appointment of Councillor Majid Rahman as the new Cabinet Member for Planning, Estate Renewal and Development, replacing Councillor Aidan Smith who has left the council to take up a new role elsewhere. The council also voted to approve the adoption of a new Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) charging schedule and to allow for the appointment of political assistants for both the Labour and Conservative groups.

The Planning Board refused permission for an application to demolish a house at 11 Crossmead in Eltham and build a 32-flat development. The Board also granted permission for the Royal Borough of Greenwich to build a new special educational needs school at the site of the former Kidbrooke Park Primary School, on Hargood Road in Kidbrooke.
