West Sub-Area Planning Committee - Monday, 21st July, 2025 10.00 am

The West Sub-Area Planning Committee of Cornwall Council met on 21 July 2025, and approved the demolition of a dwelling in Hayle, and the conversion of farm buildings in Redruth, while also delegating authority to the Chief Planning Officer for both. They also deferred a decision on the construction of houses in Redruth pending a site inspection, and refused permission in principle for a housing scheme in Helston.

West Sub-Area Planning Committee - Monday, 23rd June, 2025 10.00 am

The West Sub-Area Planning Committee met to discuss four planning applications and note a list of planning appeals. Councillors voted to refuse applications for manager's accommodation at Higher Penderleath Resort and for an extension to Wheal Cock Barn. Councillors voted to approve an application for a new dwelling at land east of Plen An Merther, subject to conditions being agreed. Councillors voted to approve permission in principle for the erection of a bungalow on land to the rear of North Roskear Road.

Pensions Committee - Thursday, 19th June, 2025 10.30 am

The Pensions Committee of Cornwall Council scheduled a meeting to discuss a business update from the Cornwall Pension Fund, an update from the Brunel Pension Partnership, and various governance matters. The meeting was scheduled to take place in the Trelawny Room at County Hall in Truro.

Annual Meeting, Cornwall Council - Tuesday, 20th May, 2025 10.30 am

At a meeting of the Cornwall Council, Councillor Rob Nolan was elected Chairman, Councillor John Thomas MBE was elected Vice-Chairman, and Councillor Leigh Frost was elected Leader of the Council. Councillors approved the appointment of committees, the allocation of seats, a programme of ordinary meetings, and a recommendation from the Standards Committee regarding mandatory member training. The Leader of the Council, Councillor Leigh Frost, announced that he would confirm his appointments to the Cabinet and allocation of portfolios within the required constitutional timescales.
