The West Northamptonshire Council's Strategic Planning Committee convened on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, to discuss and decide on two major planning applications in Harpole. The Strategic Planning Committee convened to discuss and approve recommendations for a major residential development and a large solar farm project. Councillors approved the reserved matters for land at Towcester Vale relating to the main local centre, and agreed the position for the Green Hill Solar Farm as set out in the officer's report, subject to additional comments.
Strategic Planning Committee - Tuesday 23rd September 2025 2.00 pm
The Strategic Planning Committee of West Northamptonshire Council met to discuss several planning applications, approving a primary school and a distribution warehouse, and deferring a decision on a housing development. The committee approved the construction of a new primary school at Buckton Fields and a storage and distribution building at Zone A, DIRFT, while a decision on a housing development on land north west of Upper High Street, Harpole, was deferred.
Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Panel - Thursday 18th September 2025 12.30 pm
The Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Panel met to discuss a range of issues, including the Joint Independent Audit Committee Annual Report, an overview of performance in key areas of service delivery, and the Panel's work programme for the coming year. The Panel approved the proposed work programme for 2025/26, with the addition of the topic of dealing with serious anti-social behaviour in Northamptonshire, and requested a report from the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner on performance against the missions and tests in the Commissioner’s Public Safety Plan. The Panel also noted an update on complaints and conduct matters.
