Implementing Simpler Recycling services for commercial waste

Businesses and non-domestic organisations are required by Government to implement the ‘Simpler Recycling’ requirements by 31 March 2025 (one year earlier than households). The Cabinet will be asked to consider and recommend to Council, approval of changes to West Suffolk Council’s current commercial waste collection service tomeet the ‘Simpler Recycling’ requirements. Consideration of the financial implications associated with the new arrangements is also required, including the positive impact on the revenue budget in 2025-2026 from the expected income generated.

Simpler Recycling - Recycling and Refuse Collections

As part of the national requirements for the new ‘Simpler Recycling’ regime, the Cabinet will be asked to recommend to Council, to make an in-principle decision on the type of compliant waste services to be provided to residents from 1 April 2026. The timing of this decision will coincide with others across the county.

UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) - Final 2024 to 2025 Allocations

The Cabinet will be asked to consider and approve proposed UKSPF allocations to projects under relevant interventions for 2024 to 2025. These are remaining proposals that were not previously approved utilising the portfolio holder decision making process earlier in 2024.
