The committee considered a refreshed version of the Joint Protocol on Section 17 Families between Children's Social Care & Homes and Neighbourhoods. The committee also discussed school attendance codes, an update on the council’s school reorganisation programme, and the Children’s Services Quarter 1 2024-25 Performance Report.

Extraordinary, Council - Tuesday, 19th November, 2024 6.30 pm, NEW

Councillor Una O'Halloran was elected as the new leader of Islington Council. She is the first leader of the council to have been born and raised in the borough, and the first to have been a lifelong council tenant. She was elected unanimously by councillors after being proposed and seconded by Labour councillors, and welcomed by councillors from the Green party.

The meeting heard presentations on progressive procurement, an update from the Executive Member for Equalities, Communities and Inclusion, the Corporate Performance for quarter one 2024-25, and the Annual Workforce report. The committee also heard the Chair's report, and there were no public questions.

Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 22nd October, 2024 7.00 pm

The committee endorsed the Islington Care Leavers and Housing Protocol and noted the Islington Safeguarding Children Board Annual Report, the Child Protection Annual Report, and the Youth Justice Service Inspection Report.
