Inverurie to Oldmeldrum Active Travel Options

From: Garioch Area Committee - Tuesday, 24th June, 2025 9.30 am - June 24, 2025

We are seeking approval from the Garioch Area Committee and Formartine Area Committee to progress the Inverurie to Oldmeldrum active travel route. Aberdeenshire Council’s Active Travel and Strategy Development Team commissioned AECOM to deliver an Inverurie to Oldmeldrum Active Travel Options Study which was completed in May 2025. The study was undertaken based on Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance (STAG) and builds on an earlier feasibility study initially produced in 2015 in response to demand from local community groups. The study appraised five route options against STAG criteria, Transport Planning Objectives and deliverability criteria. We aim to present the findings of the STAG review to the Committee and seek approval to engage landowners directly to agree access for the preferred route.
