The annual meeting of Hackney Council included the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker, the establishment of committees, and a review of procedure rules. The Hackney Council Cabinet met on Monday 28 April 2025, and agreed to launch a public consultation on introducing a renewed selective licensing scheme and an additional licensing scheme to improve standards in the private rented sector.
