The Croydon Council meeting on 10 December 2025 addressed several key issues, including fair funding for the borough, the Equality Strategy, and the appointment of an interim chief executive. The council voted to support fair funding for Croydon and approved the appointment of Elaine Jackson as Interim Chief Executive. An amendment to the Equality Strategy annual report was approved, with Councillor Rhea Patel of the Green Party, successfully arguing that the council can do better .

Planning Sub-Committee - Thursday, 4th December, 2025 7.15 pm

The Croydon Council Planning Sub-Committee met to discuss a single planning application for the subdivision of a garden and the construction of a new dwelling at 17 Convent Hill, Upper Norwood. The committee voted to grant the application, subject to conditions and a Section 106 agreement[^2] to secure a financial contribution towards sustainable travel improvements, after hearing from the presenting officer, a representative speaking in objection, a representative speaking in support, and the referring ward councillor. The committee also approved the minutes from the previous meeting.

Ethics Committee - Wednesday, 12th November, 2025 6.30 pm

The Ethics Committee was scheduled to meet to discuss the re-appointment of an independent person, member gifts and hospitality, ethical standards, complaints, and the committee's work programme. The meeting was due to be held in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall. Members of the public were welcome to attend.

Planning Committee - Thursday, 6th November, 2025 6.30 pm

The Croydon Council Planning Committee convened to discuss planning applications, ultimately approving one and refusing another. The committee granted permission for the erection of a two-storey development comprising five flats at 233 Hayes Lane in Kenley, and refused permission for a new dwelling at 1 Blenheim Crescent in South Croydon.

Planning Sub-Committee - Thursday, 6th November, 2025 7.15 pm

The Croydon Council Planning Sub-Committee met on 6 November 2025, to discuss three planning applications. A proposal for a new dwelling on Blenheim Crescent was refused due to its impact on the character of the area and neighbouring properties. A retrospective application relating to a property on Northampton Road was withdrawn from consideration, and an application concerning alterations to a property on Hartley Down was approved.
