Children's Services Scrutiny Panel - Thursday, 2 October 2025 7.00 pm

The Ealing Council's Children's Services Scrutiny Panel met on 2 October 2025 to discuss the council's response to the government's national children's social care agenda, the Families First Partnership Program, and the role of the LBE SAFE teams and early intervention in supporting children at risk of entering care. The panel also agreed to the co-option of Ms Sharde Hurd as an education representative and scheduled a site visit to allow panel members to become better acquainted with the work of Children's Services.

Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education - Tuesday, 30 September 2025 7.00 pm

The Ealing Council Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) met to discuss the syllabus for religious education, school determinations regarding collective worship, and national updates. The council agreed to collaborate with Haringey SACRE on syllabus revisions and voted to return to the original wording of the Agreed Model Version (AMV) syllabus, focusing on six areas of enquiry. The council also reviewed and updated the list of school determinations and discussed membership and work plans for the upcoming year.

Council - Tuesday, 15 July 2025 7.00 pm

The Council of Ealing Council was scheduled to meet on 15 July 2025 to discuss a range of topics, including the renewal of its licensing policy, proposed changes to the council's petition scheme, and the annual scrutiny report. Members were also scheduled to discuss motions on fly-tipping and the Lammas Park Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SuDS).

Children's Services Scrutiny Panel - Tuesday, 8 July 2025 7.00 pm

The Children's Services Scrutiny Panel met to discuss panel operations for the 2025-2026 municipal year, receive an update on the progress of children's services following an Ofsted inspection, and review the Children's Social Care Self-Evaluation for 2024/25. The panel agreed to its terms of reference and outline work programme. The panel also made a recommendation that the council continue its work in developing a strategy for kinship carers[^1], and requested a future report on transition planning for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)[^2].

Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Thursday, 3 July 2025 7.00 pm

The Ealing Council Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the call-in of a decision regarding the Improved Early Help Offer, to review the Scrutiny Annual Report 2024-25, and to agree on the Scrutiny Work Programmes for 2025-26. The committee voted to send the decision regarding the Improved Early Help Offer back to the cabinet for reconsideration. The committee approved the Scrutiny Annual Report 2024-25 and the Scrutiny Work Programmes for 2025-26.
