The West Northamptonshire Schools Forum met to discuss Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) monitoring, school funding, and early years funding for the upcoming financial year. The forum endorsed consultation proposals for both schools and early years funding for 2026-27, with minor additions to include questions around falling rolls funds and deprivation rates. They also noted the forecast outturn position for the year ending 31 March 2026 and the forward plan, with additional items to be added around education white paper review, changes around requirements of the Education Act S19[^2], draft sufficiency strategy update, and forecasting numbers/place planning.
Adult Social Care, Health and Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 14th October 2025 6.00 pm
The Adult Social Care, Health and Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee were scheduled to discuss the Community Safety Partnership Annual Report, and the draft Domestic Abuse Strategy at their meeting. They were also scheduled to be advised of the new prioritisation toolkit endorsed by the Overview and Scrutiny Triangulation Group, and to review their work programme for the 2025-26 municipal year.

The Children, Education and Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Priority Action Plan, the national policy direction for early years provision, and the committee's work programme for 2025-26. The committee agreed that a SEND Priority Action Plan progress update should be given at the 1 December 2025 meeting, including the impact of online information in engaging families about available support. They also agreed to include the topic of waiting times for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) assessment in its future work programme, and to scrutinise geographical differences in the take-up of early education and childcare entitlement in West Northamptonshire.

The Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Panel - Complaints Sub Committee convened to address procedural matters and consider two non-criminal complaints concerning the conduct of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner of Northamptonshire. Due to the inclusion of exempt information, a resolution to exclude the press and public was recommended. The meeting was scheduled to take place at the Jeffery Room, The Guildhall, Northampton.
