Children & Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 16 September 2025 10.00 am

The Children and Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss several key issues, including challenges in the education capital programme, updates on special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and the integrated performance report for the first quarter of 2025/26. The committee considered and commented on the challenges and mitigations relating to the council's education capital programme, as well as the update regarding children with Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans.

County Council - Tuesday 22 July 2025 10.00 am

The meeting of the Warwickshire County Council on 22 July 2025 included a debate on developer contributions to the School Lane Junction scheme, which was ultimately deferred, and a tied vote on the appointment of political assistants, which was decided by the Chair's casting vote. The council also discussed additions to the education capital programme, the Audit and Standards Committee annual report, and a motion supporting the climate emergency declaration.

The Children & Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss several key issues, including principles of effective scrutiny, special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) updates, performance reports, educational achievements, and customer feedback. The committee endorsed the Principles of Effective Overview and Scrutiny and noted the SEND update.

Corporate Parenting Panel - Monday 16 June 2025 10.00 am

The Warwickshire Council Corporate Parenting Panel were scheduled to meet on Monday 16 June 2025 to discuss the role of corporate parenting, the virtual school, the voice, influence and change team, Warwickshire children's homes and performance data. The panel were also scheduled to discuss the development of a work programme.

Annual Council, County Council - Friday 16 May 2025 10.00 am

At the annual general meeting of Warwickshire County Council, Councillor Edward Harris was elected as chair, Councillor Dale Keeling was elected as vice-chair, and Councillor Rob Howard was appointed as leader of the council. Councillors also approved appointments to committees and other bodies, received the annual report on the use of urgency and call-in procedures, reviewed the overview and scrutiny annual report, and approved amendments to contract standing orders.
