The Barking and Dagenham Assembly met to discuss treasury management, children's services, and updates to the council's constitution. The Assembly approved the Treasury Management Annual Report, noted the Children's Care and Support Self-Evaluation, and approved revisions to the Council's Financial Regulations, Contract Rules, and Councillors' Code of Conduct. They also agreed to continue the appointment of the current three independent persons.
Cabinet - Tuesday, 15 July 2025 7:00 pm
The Barking and Dagenham Council cabinet met to discuss lessons learned from austerity, regeneration projects, and plans for the future of the borough. They approved a new direction of travel based on the principles of People, Place and Partnership, and agreed to consult on a new place-based vision called 'Our B&D'. Councillors also approved a plan to build specialist children's homes and discussed ways to improve housing and support for vulnerable residents.

The Barking and Dagenham Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss updates from the Metropolitan Police and Ofsted, as well as to note the Committee's work programme. The Committee scrutinised the work of the Metropolitan Police in the borough since the last update in February 2025, and provided feedback on the latest version of the children's care and support self evaluation 2024/25.

The Barking and Dagenham Council Cabinet met to discuss the provisional revenue and capital outturn for the 2024/25 financial year, the treasury management annual report, an agreement for the Adults Emergency Duty Team Service, the use of existing temporary accommodation stock, the social value in procurement impact report, and the debt management performance. The Cabinet agreed to a procurement waiver to allow the council to continue using temporary housing stock provided by Housing Britain, and approved entering into a Section 75 Agreement[^1] with the North East London Foundation NHS Trust (NELFT) for the provision of an Adults Emergency Duty Team service. The Cabinet also agreed to transfer the general fund underspend into the general fund reserve.

The Health & Wellbeing Board and ICB Sub-Committee (Committees in Common) met on 10 June 2025, to discuss health priorities in Barking and Dagenham. The board re-adopted the place partnership's priorities for 2025/26, agreed on key health outcomes to focus on, considered a plan for deep dives into areas of health need, approved the publication of the Homelessness Health Needs Assessment, received an evaluation of the Health Inequalities Programme 2023/24, reviewed the COVID-19 and Flu Winter Plan 2025/26, noted the Better Care Fund Plan 2025/26, and discussed a physical inactivity place partnership update.
