Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny - Thursday, 29 January 2026 - 7.00 pm

The Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee of Waltham Forest Council was scheduled to discuss the recommissioning of vital children's health services, the renewal of a partnership agreement for the Better Care Fund, and the outcomes of a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection of Adult Social Care services. The committee also reviewed the ongoing work of the Safeguarding Adults Board and the council's scrutiny forward plan.

Application for a premises licence, 1st City Self Drive, 33 Skeltons Lane, Leyton, E10 5BT, Licensing Act 2003 Sub-Committee - Tuesday, 16th December, 2025 10.00 am

The Licensing Act 2003 Sub-Committee is scheduled to convene to consider an application for a new premises licence. The application is for 1st City Self Drive, and has attracted a representation from another person, leading to a hearing. Councillors will be asked to decide whether to grant the application in full, grant it in part, or refuse it.

Review of a Premises Licence - BlackStar Grill & Bar, 54 St James Street, Walthamstow E17 7PE, Licensing Act 2003 Sub-Committee - Tuesday, 16th December, 2025 11.00 am

The Licensing Act 2003 Sub-Committee is scheduled to convene to review the premises licence for BlackStar Bar & Grill, following an application for review. The sub-committee will hear evidence and consider representations before determining whether to modify, suspend, or revoke the licence, or take no action. The meeting may also exclude the press and public from part of the meeting.

Council - Thursday, 11th December, 2025 7.30 pm

The Council of Waltham Forest was scheduled to meet on 11 December 2025 to discuss several topics, including the council tax support scheme, fees and charges for 2026/27, and a proposed new smoke control order. Councillors were also scheduled to discuss the Corporate Parenting Board annual report and a protocol for honorary alderpeople.

Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny - Wednesday, 3rd December, 2025 7.00 pm

The Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny were scheduled to meet to discuss the Safeguarding Adults Board Strategic Plan for 2025-28, and to receive an update from Whipps Cross Hospital (Barts Health NHS Trust) on the findings of a Care Quality Commission (CQC) report. Councillors were also expected to review the committee's forward plan, action tracker and recommendations tracker.
