The Cornwall Council Appeals Committee met on 18 August 2025, chaired by Councillor James O'Keefe, to discuss requests for travel assistance to attend schools in Cornwall. Travel assistance was approved for a pupil to attend Nancealverne School in Redruth, but was refused for pupils attending Bodmin College, Oak Tree School in Bude, Red Moor School in Liskeard, and The Roseland Academy in St Austell. An appeal regarding travel assistance to Brannel School was settled prior to the meeting.

The East Sub-Area Planning Committee met to discuss three planning applications and an appeals report. Outline planning permission was granted for Knowlton Holdings Ltd to build up to 92 residential dwellings in Wadebridge, subject to conditions and a Section 106 agreement[^2]. The committee also voted to grant permission in principle for a residential development comprising nine dwellings in Bude. However, outline planning permission was refused for the construction of a self-build dwelling in Launceston, despite the support of Councillor Adam Paynter, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Resources and Group Leader - Independent Group.

The Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry Joint Committee were scheduled to meet to discuss the budget, and receive an update from the General Manager.
