Cabinet - Wednesday, 27th November, 2024 5.30 p.m.
The Cabinet of Tower Hamlets Council made a number of decisions at its meeting, including approving the continuation of business rates pooling arrangements with seven other London Boroughs, the adoption of a new Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy, and a new Substance Misuse Strategy. The Cabinet also approved plans to create a new nursery at Stepney Greencoat CE Primary School[^2] and to make a £1.5 million investment in leisure facilities across the borough. The Cabinet agreed to defer a decision on an application from The Roman Road Neighbourhood Forum to formally designate the area as a neighbourhood planning area.

The Cabinet discussed a range of measures Tower Hamlets Council is taking to assess and improve its performance, and approved plans for housing regeneration at the HAPpy Estate.
Extraordinary Meeting, Overview & Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 30th September, 2024 6.30 p.m.
The Overview & Scrutiny Committee met to consider a call-in of the Cabinet's decision to award new contracts for the provision of domiciliary care services in the borough. Following a lengthy discussion, in which concerns were raised about a lack of transparency in the decision-making process, the Committee ultimately voted to uphold the Cabinet's decision.
Tower Hamlets Health and Wellbeing Board - Monday, 23rd September, 2024 5.00 p.m.
The meeting covered a number of urgent public health issues and new plans and policies to be implemented in the borough. The Board approved the North East London Sexual and Reproductive Health Strategy 2024-2029 and the associated action plans for the borough, as well as the new Violence Against Women and Girls and Women's Safety Strategy 2024-29. They discussed the findings of the Annual Public Health Report and its implications for Tower Hamlets and heard updates on the Better Care Fund review, Children’s Mental Health Services and provision for Children with Special Educational Needs, including an update on the SEND and Inclusion Strategy 2024-2029. The Board noted a report on Maternity and Neonatal Demand and Capacity and also a report on Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2023. Finally, they received an update on preparations for the forthcoming Care Quality Commission inspection of Adult Social Care services.

The meeting agreed changes to waste collection policies in the borough, approved new capital spending to improve leisure facilities and discussed a range of policy and strategic updates.
