The Cabinet agreed all of the items on its agenda. The most significant decisions were to progress a new draft Local Plan and to begin consultation on a Public Space Protection Order for dogs and their owners. The Cabinet also agreed to extend the contract for the Barkantine Heat and Power Company for two years, and to grant permission for five schools to become academies.

The Cabinet noted the council's provisional financial outturn for 2023-24, reviewed the Quarter 4 performance report, and approved the revised Homelessness Accommodation Placement Policy. The Cabinet also approved a procurement transformation paper intended to address a history of failures in council procurement.

General Purposes Committee - Tuesday, 4th June, 2024 6.30 p.m.

The General Purposes Committee of Tower Hamlets Council convened on Tuesday, 04 June 2024, to discuss several key issues, including local authority governor applications and updates to the council's constitution.
