Non-Strategic Planning Committee - Thursday 9th October 2025 6.00 pm
The Non-Strategic Planning Committee of West Northamptonshire Council met on 9 October 2025, and approved plans for a children's home and a commercial development, and agreed to submit a statement of case regarding an appeal against non-determination of an application. A decision on a fourth planning application was withdrawn from the agenda.
Children, Education and Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Thursday 2nd October 2025 6.00 pm
The Children, Education and Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Priority Action Plan, the national policy direction for early years provision, and the committee's work programme for 2025-26. The committee agreed that a SEND Priority Action Plan progress update should be given at the 1 December 2025 meeting, including the impact of online information in engaging families about available support. They also agreed to include the topic of waiting times for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) assessment in its future work programme, and to scrutinise geographical differences in the take-up of early education and childcare entitlement in West Northamptonshire.

The Council of West Northamptonshire Council convened to consider nominations for Honorary Aldermen and Alderwomen. The meeting was scheduled to include announcements from Councillor Alison Eastwood, Chairman of the Council, and Councillor Mark Arnull, Leader of the Council and Leader of the Reform UK Group. The committee also agreed to use the indexation arrangements outlined in the document for all section 106 agreements[^2] in the interim. Finally, they delegated authority to the Head of Planning Policy and Specialist Services to make minor changes to the document before its release.
