Surrey Police and Crime Panel - Thursday, 26 September 2024 10.30 am

The Surrey Police and Crime Panel noted all the reports that were presented to it. The Panel will write to the Home Secretary to express their concerns about the Police Funding Formula, which they believe will leave Surrey Police underfunded if the government follows through on its manifesto pledge to create 13,000 new neighbourhood police officers. Councillor Richard Wilson was appointed to the Complaints Sub-Committee of the Police and Crime Panel.

Planning and Regulatory Committee - Wednesday, 25 September 2024 10.30 am

The committee approved an outline planning application for a new extra care housing scheme at the former Birchlands Care Home in Englefield Green, Egham. They also noted the outcome of a judicial review relating to a previous decision to grant planning permission for oil extraction at Horse Hill in Horley. The Supreme Court quashed that permission, and so the application will return to the committee for redetermination at a later date.

Surrey Police and Crime Panel Complaints Sub-Committee - Wednesday, 31 July 2024 1.00 pm

The Surrey Police and Crime Panel Complaints Sub-Committee met to consider a complaint made against the Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner. The meeting was not open to the public, as is usual for complaints of this kind. The documents for the meeting do not tell us whether the Sub-Committee decided to uphold the complaint, seek an informal resolution, or take any other action.

Council - Tuesday, 9 July 2024 10.00 am

Surrey Council met to discuss, among other business, their relationship with the newly elected national government, the provision of special educational needs support, and performance issues with the Council’s highways contractor, Ringway Infrastructure Services. The Council voted, without dissent, to approve the content of the Cabinet meeting on 25 June 2024, the minutes of the meeting on 21 May 2024, and the Scrutiny Annual Report 2023-24. They also approved a plan to update the Member Development Strategy.
