The Surrey Police and Crime Panel provides a check and balance on the performance of the directly elected Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey, as established by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011. The Panel is hosted by Surrey County Council and comprises one councillor from each of Surrey's twelve local authorities, alongside two co-opted independent members. Its role is to scrutinise the Commissioner's actions and performance.
