Children's Services Scrutiny Panel - Tuesday, 8 July 2025 7.00 pm

The Children's Services Scrutiny Panel met to discuss panel operations for the 2025-2026 municipal year, receive an update on the progress of children's services following an Ofsted inspection, and review the Children's Social Care Self-Evaluation for 2024/25. The panel agreed to its terms of reference and outline work programme. The panel also made a recommendation that the council continue its work in developing a strategy for kinship carers[^1], and requested a future report on transition planning for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)[^2].

Ealing Schools Forum - Wednesday, 2 July 2025 6.00 pm

The Ealing Schools Forum met to discuss school funding for the upcoming years. The forum agreed to implement a clawback mechanism for schools with excessive surplus balances, with the funds being used to support high needs pressures and potential school organisation changes. Members also reviewed and discussed the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) outturn for 2024-25, early years funding, and high needs funding pressures.

Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education - Tuesday, 17 June 2025 7.00 pm

The Ealing Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) met to discuss statutory responsibilities, including collective worship in schools and the religious education syllabus. The council approved a determination for Hambrough Primary School, and discussed updates to the Agreed Syllabus Conference (ASC). They also considered collaboration with Haringey Council on syllabus development.
