Plans Sub-Committee No. 2 - Thursday 24 July 2025 7.00 pm
The Bromley Council Plans Sub-Committee No. 2 met on 24 July 2025, and made decisions on three planning applications. Councillors deferred a decision on the conversion of a High Street building into an aparthotel, permitted the demolition of a rear lean-to and construction of an extension in the Beckenham Town & Copers Cope Conservation Area, and refused permission for the conversion of a house into flats in Mottingham.
Council - Monday 7 July 2025 7.00 pm
At a meeting of Bromley Council, Councillor Jonathan Andrews was formally appointed as the new Mayor of Bromley, and Councillor Gemma Turrell was appointed as the Deputy Mayor. Councillors also discussed and approved changes to the council's capital programme, treasury management, financial regulations, contract procedure rules, local planning protocol and scheme of delegation to officers. Finally, they considered the Health and Wellbeing Board annual report and the Local Pension Board annual report.
Standards Committee - Tuesday 1 July 2025 7.00 pm
The Standards Committee met on Tuesday to appoint a chair and vice-chair, to discuss ethical standards with the Chief Executive, and to review the Monitoring Officer's general report. Councillor Nicholas Bennett J.P. was appointed Chairman and Councillor Melanie Stevens was appointed Vice-Chairman for the 2025/26 municipal year. The committee also requested a report on publicity in the pre-election period, also known as Purdah, to be provided at the next meeting.
Plans Sub-Committee No. 1 - Thursday 26 June 2025 7.00 pm
The Bromley Council's Plans Sub-Committee No. 1 met on 26 June 2025, and refused planning permission for the retrospective installation of a parcel locker at Chelsfield Station Car Park, and for change of use applications at the former Bromley Civic Centre. Permission was granted for extensions to a property at 9 Hathaway Close, and for alterations to windows at Manorfields.
Executive, Resources and Contracts Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee - Monday 23 June 2025 7.00 pm
The Executive, Resources and Contracts Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee met on 23 June 2025, and agreed to support recommendations regarding treasury management, building maintenance contracts, the Operational Property Review, and a temporary accommodation acquisition programme. The committee also received updates on fire safety and information technology, and discussed the forward plan of key decisions.
