Licensing Sub-Committee (1) - Thursday 25th September, 2025 10.00 am

The Licensing Sub-Committee (1) of Westminster City Council convened on Thursday 25 September 2025, to consider four licensing applications. Councillor Aziz Toki, Chair of Licensing, Councillor Md Shamsed Chowdhury, Deputy Cabinet Member - Streets and Lead Member - Edgware Road Champion, and Councillor Karen Scarborough were scheduled to be in attendance. The Sub-Committee was expected to consider each application in light of Westminster's Licensing Policy and national guidance.

Licensing Sub-Committee (4) - Thursday 18th September, 2025 10.00 am

The Licensing Sub-Committee (4), consisting of Councillor Angela Piddock, Councillor Judith Southern, Lead Member - Older Persons Champion, and Councillor Karen Scarborough, scheduled a meeting to address several licensing applications. The Sub-Committee was expected to consider applications for premises licences under the Licensing Act 2003, taking into account Westminster Council's licensing policy, effective from October 2021, and guidance issued by the Secretary of State in December 2023. The Sub-Committee was also expected to consider core hours for when customers are permitted to be on the premises, as outlined in the council's licensing policy.

Licensing Committee - Wednesday 17th September, 2025 6.30 pm

The Licensing Committee met to discuss the Westminster After Dark consultation, and to review recent licensing appeals. The committee noted the findings of the Westminster After Dark consultation, and also noted the update on licensing appeals. The committee also approved the minutes from the previous meeting held on 11 June 2025.

Young People, Learning and Employment Policy and Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 16th September, 2025 6.30 pm

The Young People, Learning and Employment Policy and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss supported internships and the transformation of services for children with disabilities. Councillors reviewed how the council attracts applicants and employers to supported internships and employment opportunities. The committee also scrutinised the proposals to transform services for children with disabilities.

Council - Wednesday 10th September, 2025 7.00 pm

The City of Westminster Council met on 10 September 2025, and began by electing Councillor Hamza Taouzzale as Relief Chair for the meeting. Councillors then heard questions from the public on topics ranging from policing to street lighting, and debated issues including pedestrianisation of Oxford Street, homelessness, and street cleaning. The council also received and noted the Annual Report of Policy and Scrutiny Activity in 2024/25 and the Annual Report of the Audit and Performance Committee 2024/25.
