The Licensing Sub-Committee approved an application for the grant of a premises licence to sell alcohol off the premises at Premier, 23 Station Road, Chingford. The application was approved after the applicant agreed to amend the hours during which alcohol could be sold in response to representations made by local Councillors and residents.

This meeting was scheduled to discuss a range of issues relating to the Council’s provision of services to adults, with particular focus on learning disabilities and sexual health. The most significant issue on the agenda was the Council’s proposal to close the Markhouse Centre, a day centre for people with learning disabilities. The agenda also included an update on the planned recommissioning of the Council’s integrated sexual health service, in anticipation of the current contract expiring in late 2025.

The Sub-Committee granted a premises licence to Mr Daniel Saunders for Leyton Calling, Arch 145, Tilbury Road, Leyton, London, E10 6RE. The licence permits the sale of alcohol for consumption on and off the premises, late night refreshments and the playing of recorded music. During the meeting, the Sub-Committee decided that the application to licence a mobile bar and outside seating area at the premises would have to be determined as part of a separate application.
