The Welsh Harp Joint Consultative Committee met to discuss the management and operation of the Welsh Harp Reservoir[^2] and surrounding areas. Updates on the Welsh Harp Management Plan from both the London Borough of Brent and the London Borough of Barnet were scheduled, along with an update from the Canal & River Trust on restoration works. The committee was also expected to review the minutes from the previous meeting and discuss future meeting dates.

The Brent Council Cabinet met to discuss budget proposals for 2026-27, approve a health and wellbeing hub in Gladstone Park, and address school place planning. Councillors also approved adopting the socio-economic duty to reduce inequality and backed a collaborative procurement for sexual health services.

General Purposes Committee - Monday 13 October 2025 9.30 am

The Brent Council General Purposes Committee met to discuss proposed changes to pay and allowances for council staff, aiming for greater consistency, transparency, and fairness. The committee approved recommendations to amend the Standby and Callout Policy, standardise shift allowances, define core working hours, and adjust planned overtime rates, and agreed to start formal consultations with staff and trade unions on the proposals. These changes are intended to improve financial controls and reduce the risk of equal pay claims.
