Children, Young People and Education Scrutiny Commission - Wednesday, 18 June 2025 5:30 pm

The Children, Young People and Education Scrutiny Commission met to discuss the Families First Programme, a performance dashboard for social care and education, and an improvement plan for children's social care, early help, and prevention. The commission was also scheduled to discuss questions raised by Dr Nizamuddin Patel regarding Ofsted's report on children's services. The meeting also included an introduction to the CYPE Scrutiny Commission.

Planning and Development Control Committee - Wednesday, 11 June 2025 5:30 pm

The Leicester City Council Planning and Development Control Committee met on Wednesday 11 June 2025, to discuss a planning application for a change of use at 14 Brunel Avenue and to review the outcomes of planning appeals. The committee voted to approve the application for 14 Brunel Avenue, subject to conditions. They also noted a report on planning appeals determined in the past year.

Special Meeting, Children, Young People and Education Scrutiny Commission - Thursday, 22 May 2025 5:30 pm

The Children, Young People and Education Scrutiny Commission met to consider a call-in of an executive decision regarding post-16 special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) transport policies. The commission was scheduled to review the decision and determine whether to endorse, comment on, or withdraw the call-in. The original executive decision, made by Councillor Elaine Pantling ( Assistant City Mayor - Children and Young People), aimed to approve new policies for providing transport assistance to children and young people in education or training, with significant changes proposed for those aged 16 to 25 with SEND.

Annual Meeting, Council - Thursday, 15 May 2025 5:15 pm

The Leicester City Council meeting on 15 May 2025 included the election of the Lord Mayor and other ceremonial roles, and the establishment of scrutiny and regulatory committees. Councillors were also scheduled to discuss the annual calendar of meetings for the upcoming year.
