At a meeting of the Waltham Forest Council, councillors approved an updated Local Development Scheme and declared a Nature Emergency in the borough. The council also paid tribute to former Councillor Mohammad Asghar, father of Councillor Naheed Asghar, Portfolio Lead Member - Inclusive Economy, who had recently passed away.

Proposed aquisition of newbuild homes for affordable rent, Executive Decision - Monday, 31st March, 2025 11.00 am
This executive decision meeting of Waltham Forest Council was scheduled to discuss the proposed acquisition of new build homes for affordable rent. The Deputy Leader (Housing and Regeneration) was asked to approve the use of Right to Buy receipts to acquire 53 newbuild homes at the Fellowship Square development. This acquisition was previously discussed at an executive decision meeting in December 2024[^2].
