Annual Council - Thursday, 16th May, 2024 7.30 pm
Councillor Anjna Khurana was elected as Mayor of Islington for 2024/25, with Councillor Jason Jackson as her deputy. Outgoing Mayor, Councillor Gary Heather, was thanked for his service to the borough. Councillor Kaya Comer-Schwartz announced a refreshed Executive, with new responsibilities and some changes in personnel. The Council also approved a number of constitutional amendments relating to the operation of scrutiny, changes to the Members’ Allowances Scheme and procurement rules, and the membership and terms of reference for the Council’s committees.
Planning Committee - Tuesday, 19th March, 2024 7.30 pm
The meeting considered two applications. Permission was granted for amendments to a partially built office development at 1 Pear Tree Street, and for the demolition and redevelopment of Castle House and Fitzroy House on 37-45 Paul Street, 13-17 Epworth Street and 1-15 Clere Street.
Planning Sub Committee B - Tuesday, 5th March, 2024 7.30 pm
The Islington Council Planning Sub-Committee B met on Tuesday 05 March 2024 and granted planning permission for the change of use of the lower ground and ground floor at 360 St John Street to a Public House, for the change of use of the 6th floor of Hill House to residential, and to allow Islington Council to construct a new fire escape and re-landscape a courtyard at Islington Town Hall. They also approved the change of use of the ground floor of 7 Manor Gardens to create an Access Islington Hub, and the change of use of the Dame Geraldine Hall to ancillary office space.
