Community & Children's Services Committee - Monday, 10th November, 2025 1.45 pm

The Community & Children's Services Committee was scheduled to meet on Monday 10 November 2025 to discuss a range of issues, including refurbishment and upgrade works to the York Way Estate lift, lift lobby and stairwell, the Corporate Parenting Strategy 2025-2028, and an update on the Golden Lane Leisure Centre. The committee was also scheduled to endorse appointments to the allocated members scheme to the various housing estates.

Court of Common Council - Thursday, 9th October, 2025 1.00 pm

At a meeting of the Court of Common Council, the City of London Corporation agreed to changes to officer delegation, discussed housing governance, and received a report from the Panel of Independent Persons. The Court also approved a motion to instruct officers to report on introducing rolling electoral registration.

Planning Applications Sub-Committee - Tuesday, 30th September, 2025 10.30 am

The Planning Applications Sub-Committee convened to discuss planning applications, with key decisions made regarding the redevelopment of Custom House into a hotel and the use of the Sugar Quay Jetty for restaurant seating. The committee approved the Custom House redevelopment, balancing the benefits of public access and economic use against the harm to the listed building. Conversely, the application for Sugar Quay Jetty was approved after a lengthy debate, with concerns raised about noise and loss of public space.
