Extraordinary Meeting, Council - Tuesday, 9 April 2024 10.00 am
The meeting approved the appointments of a new Chief Executive and an interim Monitoring Officer for Surrey County Council. Councillors also received apologies from absent Councillors.
Surrey Pension Fund Committee - Friday, 22 March 2024 11.15 am
The Surrey Pension Fund Committee approved the Surrey Pensions Team's strategic plan for 2024-2025, a new training policy, and the budget for 2024/25. It also agreed to delegate to the Chair the final approval of the Fund’s application to become a signatory of the UK Stewardship Code, and noted a report on the Fund’s investment performance.
Council - Tuesday, 19 March 2024 10.00 am
At this meeting of Surrey County Council, a motion was passed calling on the next government to reform local government finance, and the Council agreed to set up a Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee with Hampshire County Council and Bracknell Forest Council to scrutinise the plans for the rebuilding of Frimley Park Hospital.
Surrey Local Firefighters' Pension Board - Thursday, 8 February 2024 10.30 am
The Board discussed a range of topics, including the McCloud remedy, the Matthews remedy, the annual benefit statements, the Guaranteed Minimum Pension rectification, and cybersecurity. The Board agreed to close actions relating to pension scams, the longest failure to meet an estimate target, and the 10% pensionable allowance. It was also agreed to include an update on the progress of the annual benefit statements for 24/25 in a future Scheme Manager Update Report and to circulate the log of exceptions with Board members for consideration at a future meeting.
Budget Meeting, Council - Tuesday, 6 February 2024 10.00 am
The Council approved the final budget for 2024/25 and the Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) for 2028/29. An amendment to the budget, which would have created a voluntary contribution fund for residents in more affluent areas, was rejected. The Council also approved the appointment of Leigh Whitehouse as interim Chief Executive and Anna D’Alessandro as the interim Section 151 officer, as well as changes to Members’ allowances.
