The Strategic Planning Committee of West Northamptonshire Council approved recommendations on 16/12/2025. The decision was to grant permission for the redevelopment of land at Northampton Station, subject to additional conditions and the completion of a S106 Agreement. This includes financial contributions for healthcare, education, employment and skills training, library provisions, affordable housing, open space, and landscape maintenance.

The Strategic Planning Committee approved the construction of a storage and distribution building at Plot 6, Northampton Gateway Rail Freight Interchange, on 16 December 2025.
