Derbyshire County Council met on 10 December 2025, and approved the appointment of a new Chief Executive, Neil Crittenden, as well as changes to committee memberships and contract standing orders. Councillors also discussed a range of public and member questions, and voted on several notices of motion, including one opposing a digital ID scheme and another regarding the protection of green spaces from pylon development.

Extraordinary meeting, Council - Thursday, 13 November 2025 4.00 pm, NEW
The council met to discuss and vote on a recommendation to be put to the cabinet regarding local government reorganisation, and ultimately voted to support a single unitary council for the whole Derby and Derbyshire area. The council also agreed to delegate authority to the Interim Chief Executive, Simon Stevens, in discussion with Councillor Alan Graves, Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Strategic Leadership, to make any amendments and additions to the submission document following feedback from the full council.

The Standing Advisory Committee for Religious Education (SACRE) met to discuss feedback on the new Agreed Syllabus, review curriculum and assessment, and consider advice regarding local government reorganisation. The meeting was scheduled to take place on 10 November 2025 at County Hall, Matlock.

The Pensions and Investments Committee was scheduled to meet to discuss the actuarial valuation of the Derbyshire Pension Fund, a performance report, and the fund's risk register.
