The Planning Policy Committee of West Northamptonshire Council approved the updated West Northamptonshire Local Development Scheme on 08 January 2026. The committee delegated authority to the Head of Planning Policy and Specialist Services to make minor editorial and presentational changes to the scheme.

The Planning Policy Committee of West Northamptonshire Council agreed to recommend to Council that the draft West Northamptonshire Local Plan be issued for public consultation on 8 January 2026. This included a recommendation to undertake a call for sites, and delegated authority to the Head of Planning Policy and Specialist Services to make minor editorial changes.

The Strategic Planning Committee approved the reserved matters for parcels H40-43 at Towcester Vale Phase 1, London Road, Towcester on 16 December 2025. The decision was made in accordance with the Case Officer’s recommendation, subject to conditions.

The Strategic Planning Committee approved the construction of a storage and distribution building at Plot 6, Northampton Gateway Rail Freight Interchange, on 16 December 2025. This approval was granted in accordance with the Case Officer’s recommendation, subject to conditions and the completion of a Section 106 Agreement. The decision includes the allocation of mezzanine floorspace to offset trip generation and a 1-metre increase in building height above the DCO parameter for Zone A3.
