Extraordinary Meeting, Council - Thursday, 23rd October, 2025 4.00 pm
The Council of Doncaster Council scheduled an extraordinary meeting to be held on 23 October 2025. The main item on the agenda was a discussion of revisions to the appointment of chairs and vice-chairs of committees and sub-committees for the 2025/26 municipal year. This followed a requisition to convene an extraordinary meeting made by five Reform UK members of the council.
Regeneration & Housing Overview & Scrutiny Panel - Wednesday, 1st October, 2025 12.30 pm
The Regeneration & Housing Overview & Scrutiny Panel met to discuss the 2025 Secure Tenancy Agreement Review, and to review the Overview and Scrutiny Work Plan and the Council's Forward Plan of Key Decisions. The panel supported the report on the tenancy agreement review, and requested that the Executive consider removing the 'express clause' regarding automatic succession rights, so that other family members beyond a spouse or partner could be granted a new tenancy if they qualify, to make the best use of council housing stock. The panel also agreed to add consideration of how supporting infrastructure information is taken into account during planning application reviews to the work plan for future consideration.
Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee - Thursday, 25th September, 2025 9.30 am
The Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee were scheduled to meet to discuss key performance indicators from St Leger Homes of Doncaster, the council's financial performance, and the annual report on complaints and compliments. The committee was also expected to review its work plan for the year and the council's forward plan.
Council - Thursday, 18th September, 2025 6.00 pm
The Doncaster Council meeting on 18 September 2025 included discussion of a motion of no confidence in Mayor Ros Jones, which was not passed, as well as the approval of the Youth Justice Plan 2025/26 and noting the Health and Wellbeing Board's Annual Report 2024/25. Councillors also addressed public questions about flags on lampposts, the closure of Warmsworth Library, and IVF treatment availability.
Children and Young People Overview and Scrutiny Panel - Thursday, 11th September, 2025 4.30 pm
The Children and Young People Overview and Scrutiny Panel met on Thursday 11th September 2025 to discuss the Doncaster Youth Council work plans, the statutory duties and priorities for children, young people and families, the Families First Partnership Programme, and the Overview and Scrutiny Work Plan and Council's Forward Plan of Key Decisions. The Panel noted the information presented on the Doncaster Youth Council and the statutory responsibilities and priorities for children, young people, and families. The Panel also noted the vision and plan of the Doncaster Family Model, and that the Families First Partnership Programme Board will be accountable for delivery of the programme. Finally, the Panel noted the Overview and Scrutiny Work Plan and Council's Forward Plan of Key Decisions.
