In a meeting held on Tuesday 10 June 2025, Councillor Rob Howard, Leader of the Council, confirmed the appointment of Councillor Nigel Golby as the Portfolio Holder for Transport and Planning, and Councillor Stuart Green as the Cabinet Support Member for Transport and Planning. The terms of reference for both roles were also confirmed.

In a brief meeting, Councillor Rob Howard, Leader of the Council, appointed councillors to the Cabinet, determined their portfolios, and delegated executive functions. Councillor George Finch was appointed as Deputy Leader. The Portfolio Holder Decisions/Leader Decisions meeting of Warwickshire Council on 16 May 2025 was unable to proceed due to the absence of Councillor Rob Howard, Leader of the council. Consequently, all items on the agenda were deferred to a future date. These included the appointment of cabinet portfolios, delegation of executive functions, and appointments to various bodies.

Annual Council, County Council - Friday 16 May 2025 10.00 am

At the annual general meeting of Warwickshire County Council, Councillor Edward Harris was elected as chair, Councillor Dale Keeling was elected as vice-chair, and Councillor Rob Howard was appointed as leader of the council. Councillors also approved appointments to committees and other bodies, received the annual report on the use of urgency and call-in procedures, reviewed the overview and scrutiny annual report, and approved amendments to contract standing orders.
