The Children, Education and Families Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee of Bromley Council scheduled a meeting to discuss a range of issues, including budget monitoring, capital programme monitoring, the Education Commissioning Plan, and the annual reports from the Independent Reviewing Officer and the Local Authority Designated Officer. The Children, Education and Families Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee met on 11 September 2025, and among other things, discussed the Children and Young People's Plan 2025-2029, the constitution of the Schools Forum, and a deep dive into children and young people's mental health and wellbeing services. The committee supported the recommendations in all of the reports they discussed.

At a meeting of Bromley Council, Councillor Jonathan Andrews was formally appointed as the new Mayor of Bromley, and Councillor Gemma Turrell was appointed as the Deputy Mayor. Councillors also discussed and approved changes to the council's capital programme, treasury management, financial regulations, contract procedure rules, local planning protocol and scheme of delegation to officers. Finally, they considered the Health and Wellbeing Board annual report and the Local Pension Board annual report.

The Children, Education and Families Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee met on 18 June 2025, and among the topics discussed were the appointment of co-opted members, the 2024/25 Q4 update and 2025/26 refreshed plan for the Children, Education and Families Portfolio, and the Education Planned Maintenance Programme for 2025/26. The committee also reviewed contract extensions for the Bromley Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service and the Short Breaks Framework, and received an annual update on Early Intervention and Family Support.
