The Corporate Resources and Economy Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the annual review of the council's five missions, the scrutiny in Islington annual report, and the draft recommendations of a scrutiny review into progressive procurement. Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 1st April, 2025 7.00 pm

The Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee met to discuss special guardianship, school results, attendance, and the progress of a review into making children visible. The committee noted the special guardianship update and the report on making children visible, and agreed to an additional meeting to discuss recommendations for the scrutiny review. The committee also noted the school results and attendance update, while raising concerns about performance compared to other inner London boroughs and requesting more granular data in future reports.

Corporate Resources and Economy Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 11th March, 2025 7.30 pm

The meeting discussed a successful pilot of a new thermal imaging scheme that helps residents identify how to make their homes more energy-efficient, and plans to develop the Council's work with anchor institutions[^2] in the Borough. The Committee heard a presentation from Councillor Sheila Chapman on the work of her Equalities, Communities and Inclusion portfolio, and then a presentation from Council officers on the Council's work with anchor institutions.

Budget Meeting, Council - Thursday, 27th February, 2025 7.15 pm

Islington Council agreed a balanced budget for 2025/26, set the level of council tax, and discussed the provision of public toilets in the borough.
