Cabinet - Thursday, 18th December, 2025 2.00 pm

The Cardiff Council Cabinet is scheduled to meet on Thursday 18 December 2025 to discuss a number of issues including a road user payment scheme, the Neurodivergent Friendly Cardiff Strategy, and council housing rent. Also on the agenda are plans for Cardiff Riding School, proposals to extend the age range of Ysgol Gymraeg Coed -Y-Gof, and provision for children and young people with Additional Learning Needs. The Cabinet will also consider the council tax base for 2026/2027, the corporate risk register, a mid-year assessment of performance, a draft regeneration strategy, and proposed changes to the Cardiff Social Housing Allocation Scheme.

Council - Thursday, 27th November, 2025 4.30 pm

The Cardiff Council met on 27 November 2025, and approved sending the Replacement Local Development Plan to the Welsh Government for independent examination. Councillors also agreed to launch a public consultation on introducing a visitor levy in the city.

Cardiff Council's cabinet convened to discuss a range of issues, including the submission of the Replacement Local Development Plan to the Welsh Government, proposed additions to the local heritage list, and the introduction of a visitor levy. The cabinet agreed to submit the Replacement Local Development Plan to the Welsh Government for examination, approved a consultation on the visitor levy, and approved additions to the local heritage list. They also reviewed reports on local air quality and budget monitoring.

Local Authority Governor Panel - Monday, 17th November, 2025 2.00 pm

The Local Authority Governor Panel met to discuss local authority school governor vacancies. This included a review of existing vacancies, and future vacancies. The Panel also considered nominations to fill these positions.

Council - Thursday, 23rd October, 2025 4.30 pm

The Cardiff Council meeting on 23 October 2025 addressed a range of issues, including the approval of the Local Authority Social Services Annual Report 2024/2025, and the 9th Cardiff Local Development Plan Annual Report. Councillors also discussed the Statement of Accounts 2024/2025, and the Standards and Ethics Annual Report. A key debate emerged around a proposed surcharge for oversized vehicles, framed as an environmental measure but criticised as a regressive tax.
