The Communities, Environment and Highways Select Committee met to discuss the Surrey Fire and Rescue Service performance, and the council's involvement in aviation planning matters. The Audit and Governance Committee met on 4 June 2025, to discuss treasury management, audit plans, financial regulations, internal and counter-fraud reports, and committee effectiveness. The committee approved the Treasury Management Outturn Report, the External Audit Plan, the Internal Audit Annual Report and Opinion, and the Audit and Governance Committee Annual Report, while deferring approval of the Surrey Pension Fund External Audit Plan pending clarification of scale fees. At the annual meeting of Surrey County Council, Councillor Tim Hall was elected as the new Chair, and Councillor Bernie Muir was elected as Vice-Chair. Councillor Tim Oliver OBE was re-elected as Leader of the Council for a four-year term. The council also discussed local government reorganisation, councillor absences, committee appointments, and various reports, including the officer code of conduct and the code of corporate governance.
