Cabinet decided to re-procure the Waste and Recycling Kerbside Collection Contract on 20 May 2026. They approved adding the purchase of vehicles to the capital programme with a budget of £13.5m, agreed a contract length of eight years with an optional eight-year extension, and maintained the separate collection of glass. They also agreed to incorporate a mechanism for green waste collection information and restructure the bulky waste collection service charging model.

The Cabinet of Doncaster Council decided to commence work on a new Doncaster Local Plan. They approved the publication of a timetable for its preparation and the publication of a formal 'Notice of Intention to Commence' by 30th June 2026. Authority was delegated to the Executive Director of Place and the Portfolio Holder for Planning for various approvals related to the plan-making process.

The Cabinet of Doncaster Council decided to purchase 140,000 wheeled bins to facilitate the rollout of a service for the separate collection of fibre and the inclusion of plastic film by 1 April 2027. The decision was made on 20/05/2026. The new bins will be 180L and brown, with existing blue 240L bins used for fibre collection.

The Cabinet of Doncaster Council approved the Doncaster Domestic Abuse Strategy 2026-2030 on 15/04/2026. The strategy sets out goals and actions to prevent and respond to domestic abuse across Doncaster. It includes a performance management framework, a quality assurance framework, and a multi-agency action plan.

The Cabinet of Doncaster Council decided to endorse and recommend the Community Safety Strategy 2026-2029 for approval by Full Council on 15/04/2026. The strategy outlines six priorities: reducing anti-social behaviour, tackling substance misuse, reducing crime and reoffending, tackling serious and organised crime, reducing violence, and tackling domestic and sexual abuse. It also details plans for a community-centred approach, prevention, early intervention, and partnership working.
