About

The Doncaster Health and Wellbeing Board's purpose is to improve the health and wellbeing of residents and reduce health inequalities. It provides strategic leadership and facilitates collaboration between health, social care, and local government to address the wider determinants of health.

The Board is responsible for leading the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and developing a Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy. It makes recommendations to the Council, oversees the implementation of the strategy, and provides opinions on the integration of health and social care plans. The Board is not a commissioning body; accountability for commissioning decisions remains with the relevant commissioners.
