The Surrey Local Pension Board met to discuss the Surrey Pension Fund's performance, administration, and risks, with a particular focus on the impact of local government reorganisation and the government's review of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). The board reviewed the fund's investment strategy, service delivery, and internal audit reports, and also discussed the ongoing issues with the implementation of the MySurrey [^2] system.
Surrey Local Firefighters' Pension Board - Thursday, 8 May 2025 12.30 pm
The Surrey Local Firefighters' Pension Board met to discuss updates on pension scheme management, compliance with pension regulations, and preparations for the pensions dashboard. The board reviewed the action and recommendation tracker, the Pension Regulator's code of compliance, and the risk register. They also discussed the McCloud remedy[^2] and the Matthews case[^3], and received an update on the pensions dashboard connection readiness.

The Board noted the contents of all of the reports that were on the agenda. It was agreed that the proposed date for the next meeting would remain unchanged: 23 May 2025. The Chair agreed to recommend the Surrey Pension Team dashboard for use as an example of good dashboard design. It was confirmed there were still outstanding training notifications that needed to be returned to the Governance Manager.

The Board noted the content of all of the reports presented at the meeting. The Board also agreed that at their next meeting they would be provided with details of the County Council's response to the Home Office's consultation on member contributions, and that they would receive a presentation on the County Council's finances.
