Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 8th July, 2025 7.30 pm

The Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee met to discuss adult social care, public health, and the work programme for the coming year. The committee agreed the final report on adult social care accommodation from the previous year, and approved the scrutiny initiation document for the coming year, which will focus on life expectancy in the borough. Members also heard from Healthwatch Islington about their annual report and work programme, and discussed the latest performance report from adult social care.

Environment, Climate and Transport Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 1st July, 2025 7.30 pm

The Islington Environment, Climate and Transport Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the final report of the 2024-25 scrutiny review, and to select a new scrutiny topic for 2025-26, deciding to focus on waste reduction, recycling and the circular economy. The committee also agreed its work plan for the coming year.

Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee - Thursday, 12th June, 2025 7.30 pm

The Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee met to discuss several reports and updates, including the Moorfields Eye Hospital annual performance, and the public health performance report for quarter three. The committee also agreed to focus its annual scrutiny review on healthy life expectancy, incorporating smoking action, healthy weight initiatives, drug and alcohol programmes, and active travel.

Special JHOSC meeting, Joint Overview and Scrutiny Committee on Health - Friday, 6th June, 2025 2.00 pm

The Joint Overview and Scrutiny Committee on Health met on 6 June 2025 to discuss several items, including the scrutiny of NHS quality accounts. A key focus was the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust's Quality Account for 2024-25, which detailed achievements, priorities, and statements of assurance. The committee also scheduled time to discuss the Whittington Health NHS Trust Quality Account.

Annual Council - Thursday, 15th May, 2025 7.15 pm

At the Annual Council meeting, Councillor Jason Jackson was elected as Mayor of Islington, becoming the first black man to hold the post. Councillor Rosalyn Ngongoro was appointed as Deputy Mayor, and councillors were assigned to various committees and outside organisations. The council also formally appointed Paul Clarke as Interim Section 151 Officer[^1].
