Local Authority Housing Fund- Round 3

The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has launched a third round of Local Authority Housing Funding for Local Authorities to provide accommodation to families with housing needs. RBBC has put in an Expression of Interest for grant funding to purchase 4 further properties under this round and agreement is sought to accept this funding, enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with MHCLG, commit the required additional funding from Council Capital Receipt Reserves, and to proceed to purchase, refurbish and let the properties. All properties are intended to be let as Temporary Accommodation; three to be let to those owed a Homelessness Duty by RBBC, and one to a refugee family requiring resettlement.

Budget & Capital Programme 2025/26

...to approve the Budget and Capital Programme for 2025/26, including the Medium-Term Financial Plan, a 2.99% increase in Reigate & Banstead's Band D Council Tax, a revenue budget requirement of £22.354 million, the use of £0.304 million from the IT Strategy Reserve, a final Capital Programme of £33.974 million for 2024/25 to 2028/29, the retention of the existing Local Council Tax Support scheme, the Chief Finance Officer’s report, technical adjustments to the Budget and Council Tax by the Chief Finance Officer, and a reserve movement of £0.500m from the Corporate Plan Delivery Fund to a New Reserve for Local Government Reorganisation.
