About

The Planning Development Management Committee (Visits) is responsible for ensuring the effective undertaking of the Council's Development Management and Building Standards duties. This committee determines most applications for planning consent or permission, except for those delegated to officers or where a pre-determination hearing has occurred. It also has the power to make Orders, issue Notices, approve development briefs and masterplans, and adopt planning management guidance. The committee may also conduct pre-determination hearings and determine applications following such hearings, as outlined in the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997. Site visits to application locations may be undertaken when agreed by members, with all interested parties notified.
